Boat Manufacturer: Parkman Yachts

Year Built: 1932
Hello Star Sailors,
My name is Laura and recently inherited a Star Class Sailboat that I cannot keep. My dad unexpected passed away a little over a year ago and I don’t have the means nor land to restore this little piece of history. The boat needs a lot of restoration as the mast snapped in the mid 90s and never made it back lake. My father was a master carpenter/contractor with a passion for sailing. Unfortunately, after my mom was diagnosed with cancer he didn’t have the time nor energy to work on his passion project. It sat tightly wrapped in our yard on a trailer and was eventually moved into the barn pictured above. Over the past year it has been stored outdoors wrapped in a tarp.
My father bought the boat in the late 80s just before I was born so I cannot be certain on the exact purchase year. I know that the boat was built in 1932 by Parkman Yachts. The hull number is 893 and I have a copy of the “Official Star Class Measurement Certificate”.
Please see link for additional photos (https://imgur.com/a/aiYWfXh). The boat must be moved as soon as possible as the current landowner where the boat is being stored needs the space. As previously mentioned, this was my father’s passion project. I think some of the best days of his life were spent with his family on this boat and I can’t imagine having to send it to a salvage yard.
